Execution Statistics for May 2024 in Iranian Kurdistan

According to the statistics recorded by the Hana Human Rights Organization, in May 2024, at least 20 Kurdish citizens were executed in various prisons across Iran. The breakdown of these executions is as follows:
- **Total Executions:** 20 Kurdish individuals
- **Drug-related offenses:** 13 individuals
- **Murder charges:** 5 individuals
- **Charges of Moharebeh (waging war against God):** 2 individuals
Among those executed for Moharebeh were Anwar Khazri and Khosro Basharat, two Kurdish ideological prisoners from Mahabad, who were executed after 14 years of imprisonment.
The Hana Human Rights Organization condemns the death penalty, considering it a heinous act and a form of state-sanctioned murder. The organization calls for the complete abolition of the death penalty in Iran.
