Four Kurdish prisoners of conscience went on hunger strike in Qazalhasar prison

According to Hana's colleagues: Four Kurdish prisoners of conscience who have been sentenced to death, "Farhad Salimi, Anwar Khazari, Kamran Sheikhe and Khosro Besharat" have started a hunger strike after the execution of Dawood Abdollahi, their co-accused, and the execution sentence of their own, in Qazalhasar prison five days ago.

Dawood Abdullahi was executed in the morning of Tuesday, January 2, 2024, in the Qazalhasar prison of Karaj, and his death sentence was executed while he went on a hunger strike on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, after being transferred to solitary confinement.
Also, two Kurdish prisoners of conscience, Ayub Karimi and Qasim Absta, who were also in the case of these prisoners, were executed on November 29 and December 5, 2023, after 14 years of imprisonment in Qazalhasar prison in Karaj.
Based on this report; Dawood Abdullahi was arrested by the security forces in December 2009, along with six Sunni citizens named Anwar Khazari, Qasim Absta, Farhad Salimi, from Saqqez, Ayyub Karimi from Mahabad, Kamran Sheikha and Khosrow Basharat.
According to received reports; They were sentenced to death by the 15th branch of the Tehran Revolutionary Court in June 2018, on charges of "corruption on earth" and crimes related to national security, following unfair trials during which the court judge denied their lawyer the right to defend themselves. After being arrested between the middle of December2009, and the beginning of February 2010, in West Azerbaijan province, these seven people were transferred to the detention center of the Ministry of Information in Orumiyeh and accused of being members of "Salafi groups", a charge they denied.
In July 2018, another court in West Azarbaijan province sentenced Kamran Sheikha to death on the charge of murdering a man who died in a collision with a car, and sentenced Anwar Khezri and Khosrow Basharat to prison as his accomplices.
Despite the numerous cases of serious violations of the rules of fair proceedings, in September 2020, the 38th branch of the Supreme Court rejected their request to resume the proceedings. On February 2, 2021, the 41st branch of the Supreme Court confirmed the sentences issued against these seven prisoners.
