A 12-year-old unaccompanied asylum seeker of a journalist woman in Turkey

An Iranian journalist woman who was forced to leave her homeland due to threats from intelligence agencies of the Islamic Republic in early 2012, after enduring 12 years of asylum seeker suffering, still lives in a state of uncertainty in Turkey.

The suffering of Sh.M, an asylum seeker who has a young daughter, has been exacerbated by the constant threats from security and intelligence agencies of the Islamic Republic against her in Turkey, putting her life and that of her young child at risk.

This is while the asylum seeker case of this journalist has been accepted by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, and although she has been accepted by the UN since 2016, she has not yet been transferred to a safe third country and is waiting for resettlement in her eighth year.

On the other hand, the Turkish immigration authorities, which have been handling asylum cases since 2017, have repeatedly threatened to reject her case and even deport her from Turkey.

The uncertainty and confusion, constant threats, security and financial problems, lack of legal and economic support, responsibility for a young child, and psychological pressures are all problems that this female journalist bears.

The continuation of pressures and threats from all sides and the combination of these difficult conditions have held the fate of this female journalist and her child in darkness every day.
