According to Hana Human Rights Organization, on the morning of Wednesday, July 21, 2023, Siamand Shaboyi, a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran, was shot several times in the back by unknown people in the "Bahreke" district of Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, and died.
According to informed sources in the Kurdistan region, the attackers shot him several times in the head. The investigation of the region's security forces has been started, but so far the region's official authorities have not made an official statement.
The Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran attributed the assassination of this member to the Islamic Republic of Iran and wants the government of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region to stop the assassination machine of the Islamic Republic.
The assassination of Siamand Shaboyi happened while last week, on the morning of Friday, July 16, 2023, two other members of the Democratic Party of Iran, named Luqman Aji and Adel (Sarbaz) Mohajer, were assassinated by agents of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

In a statement, the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran announced that on the morning of Friday, July 16, several members of the party had gone to the surrounding areas of the village of "Halsho" in the suburbs of Qaladze city, and that these two members of the party were assassinated by agents of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
It should be remembered that in August 2021, Musa Babakhani, a member of the leadership of the Democratic Party, was assassinated by agents of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the "Gol Soleimanieh" hotel in the city of Erbil.
Since 1995, hundreds of members and Peshmerga of the Kurdish opposition parties of the Iranian government, including the leadership members of the Kurdish parties, have been assassinated by the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Kurdistan Region.
