At least five prisoners were executed in Ghezel Hesar Prison, Karaj

According to Hana colleagues: At dawn today, Wednesday, August 7, 2024, the execution of at least five prisoners named "Ismail Sharafi, Mehrdad Qanbar Beigi" from Kermanshah, "Shahriar Forutan" from Kermanshah and residing in Tehran, "Forud Garavand," and "Mohammad Gholami" from Kuhdasht, Lorestan province, was carried out in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj.
Ismail Sharafi, Mohammad Gholami, Mohammad Nazari, and Mehrdad Qanbar Beigi had previously been arrested on charges related to "drug offenses" and were sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Forud Garavand was also arrested in 2015 on charges related to "drug offenses" and "premeditated murder" of a government officer and was sentenced to death.
It should be noted that the execution of these prisoners was carried out alongside several other prisoners as part of a group execution.
