Hana: On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, Susan Hassanzadeh, a civil activist and Kurdish language instructor from Bukan, was arrested and transferred to Orumiyeh Prison to serve her prison sentence.
Susan Hassanzadeh was sentenced to three months of imprisonment by Branch 101 of the Criminal Court Two in Bukan on the charge of “propaganda against the regime.” The verdict was delivered to her on Thursday, October 10, 2024.
She had previously been arrested on May 15, 2024, without the presentation of legal documentation and with the use of violence by security forces. She was then transferred to a security detention center in Orumiyeh. On June 11, 2024, she was released from Orumiyeh Prison on bail of 800 million tomans.
It is worth noting that during her detention, Ms. Hassanzadeh had only one brief phone call with her family.
