Arrest of a Citizen from Bukan for Expressing Joy over Ebrahim Raisi's Death

Colleagues from the Hana Human Rights Organization in Bukan reported the arrest of a Kurdish citizen for "expressing joy over the death of Ebrahim Raisi" by security forces. The identity of this citizen has been confirmed by Hana as "Ashkan Esmaeilnejad," 22 years old, son of Mohammadsaleh, and a resident of the village of Qajari, near Bukan.
According to the report, Esmaeilnejad was arrested on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, after being summoned to the Intelligence Office in Bukan.
So far, the family's efforts to obtain information about their son's fate have been unsuccessful.
