03:45 - 21/10/2024
According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on the evening of Saturday, October 19, 2024, Kurdish political prisoner Masoud (Naeb) Haji Zadeh, son of Madani and a resident of the village of Yengje in the Soma Bradost region of Orumiyeh, was granted a three-day leave from Orumiyeh Central Prison after posting bail.
Masoud Haji Zadeh, 46 years old, married, and father of five, was returned to Orumiyeh Central Prison on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, after undergoing abdominal surgery, without completing his medical treatment.
It is important to note that during his interrogation, he suffered a rupture in part of his abdomen due to torture and beatings by security agents.
This Kurdish prisoner was previously sentenced by the Revolutionary Court of Orumiyeh to 10 years and one day in prison on charges of “membership in one of the Kurdish opposition parties to the Iranian government.” This sentence was later reduced to 7 years and 6 months in prison in the Court of Appeals.
It should be noted that on October 8, 2019, security forces raided Masoud (Naeb) Haji Zadeh’s home in Orumiyeh without a warrant, searched the premises, confiscated his mobile phone, and arrested him. He was subjected to beatings before being transferred to a security detention center. After the interrogation process, on Thursday, October 24, 2019, he was transferred to Orumiyeh Prison.
