Orumiyeh Prison / Masoud Haji Zadeh, a Kurdish political prisoner, was sent on temporary leave.

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on the evening of Monday, September 23, 2024, Kurdish political prisoner Masoud (Naeb) Haji Zadeh, 46 years old, son of Madani, married, and father of five, from the village of “Yengeje” in the Somabradoost region of Orumiyeh, was released on a three-day temporary leave from the central prison of this city after posting bail.

On the evening of Wednesday, July 24, 2024, Masoud Haji Zadeh was returned to the central prison of this city without completing his medical treatment following abdominal surgery. It is worth noting that he had suffered a rupture in part of his abdomen due to torture and beatings by security forces.

On Sunday, March 3, 2024, Masoud Haji Zadeh was temporarily released from Orumiyeh Central Prison on a heavy bail of three billion tomans for medical treatment. Previously, this Kurdish prisoner had been sentenced by the Orumiyeh Revolutionary Court to 10 years and one day in prison on charges of “membership in one of the opposition parties against the regime.” This sentence was later reduced to 7 years and 6 months in prison by the Court of Appeals.

It should also be noted that on October 8, 2019, security forces, without presenting a court order, raided Masoud (Naeb) Haji Zadeh’s home in Orumiyeh, searched the house, confiscated his mobile phone, arrested him, and subjected him to beatings. He was then transferred to a security detention center, and on October 24, 2019, after the completion of interrogation, he was transferred to Orumiyeh prison.
