Orumieh: Supreme Court Upholds Death Sentence for "Edhem Ozdemir" a Kurdish citizen from Turkey

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, in recent days, the Supreme Court of the Islamic Republic has upheld the death sentence of 27-year-old Edhem Ozdemir, a Kurdish political prisoner from Turkey who is imprisoned in Orumieh prison.
It is noteworthy that this Kurdish political prisoner was sentenced to death on charges of "moharebeh" (enmity against God) by Branch 3 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Orumieh , presided over by Judge Najafzadeh, on March 15, 2022, after 33 months of imprisonment.
Previously, Branch 1 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court in Khoy had sentenced him to death on charges of "baghi" (armed rebellion), but this sentence was overturned by the Supreme Court in February 2023.
This Kurdish citizen was arrested by IRGC forces on June 23, 2019, in the Kowsapi area of the Qelanye region.
