Keyvan Rahimi, a social activist and media advocate from Saqqez, has been sentenced to prison

According to reports from colleagues at the Hana Human Rights Organization, Keyvan Rahimi, a social activist and media advocate from Saqqez, was sentenced to eight months in prison by Branch 1 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court in Saqqez, presided over by Judge Mojtaba Ghaffari, on charges of “propaganda against the regime.” The sentence was officially communicated to him on October 12, 2024.

Keyvan Rahimi, 39 years old, married, and the father of one child, is from Saqqez County. On Sunday, April 28, 2024, he was arrested by security forces alongside his brother, Kamran Rahimi, in front of the Saqqez Revolutionary Court. His brother was released after a few hours, while Keyvan was temporarily released after two months of detention on a bail of two billion tomans.

It is noteworthy that he had previously been arrested by security forces in his home on October 5, 2023. Additionally, in October 2021, he was sentenced to eight months in prison by the Saqqez Revolutionary Court on charges of “propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
