The arrest of at least 30 Kurdish citizens in the past 8 days
03:00 - 9/9/2024
According to reports from the Hana Human Rights Organization, in the continuation of the wave of arrests of Kurdish citizens ahead of the second anniversary of the state-sponsored killing of #Zhina/Mahsa Amini, at least 30 Kurdish citizens have been arrested by the security and intelligence forces of the Islamic Republic in the cities and villages of Kurdistan over the past 8 days. The identities of all those arrested have been confirmed by Hana.
According to this report, during this period, security forces, in most cases without presenting any legal documents, raided the homes or workplaces of these individuals and arrested the targeted persons. Hana has received reports of violence and beatings by the security forces during these arrests.
It is worth noting that, especially in the days leading up to the second anniversary of the state-sponsored killing of #Zhina and the #Woman_Life_Freedom movement, the authorities have taken actions to create an atmosphere of fear and intimidation among the people and civil activists to prevent potential protests on this day.
