Ali Allahweisi, a Civil Activist from Sanandaj, Sentenced to 18 Months in Prison

According to reports from Hana colleagues, Ali Allahweisi, a civil activist from Sanandaj, was sentenced by Branch 1 of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Mostafa Azizi, to one year of imprisonment on charges of “membership in one of the Kurdish opposition parties of the Iranian government” and six months of imprisonment on charges of “propaganda against the regime.”

On Tuesday, November 12, 2024, the court hearing for the charges against this civil activist was held in Branch 1 of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court. On Sunday, November 17, 2024, the court’s verdict was officially delivered to him.

Ali Allahweisi had previously been arrested on July 15, 2024, by agents of the Intelligence Department and transferred to their detention center in Sanandaj for interrogation. He was eventually released temporarily on August 14, 2024, after posting bail of 500 million tomans.
