08:38 - 20/10/2024
According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on the morning of Sunday, October 20, 2024, a construction worker named “Bahman Nabizadegan,” the son of Moshir and a resident of the village of “Sangan,” a district of Oshnavieh, passed away at Khomeini Hospital in Orumiyeh due to severe injuries sustained in a workplace accident.
According to the received reports, on Friday, October 18, 2024, the individual had suffered severe injuries due to the lack of safety measures at the workplace and falling from a height.
It is worth noting that the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran has not joined any of the eight fundamental conventions of the International Labour Organization, which safeguard the basic labor rights for workers. As a result, workers in Iran have minimal rights regarding safety and workplace accidents. Each year, a significant number of workers in Iran lose their lives due to the absence of safety standards at work.
