A worker from Mahabad died due to electrocution in Tabriz

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization: On Friday afternoon, October 18, 2024, a worker named “Seyed Taha Razi,” the son of Hossein and Manijeh, from the village of “Ozentash,” a district of Mahabad, lost his life due to electrocution while working in a poultry farm in the city of Tabriz.

Seyed Taha Razi, 32 years old, was married and the father of two children.
It is worth mentioning that the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran has not joined any of the eight fundamental conventions of the International Labour Organization, which safeguard the basic labor rights for workers. As a result, workers in Iran have minimal rights regarding safety and accidents at work. Each year, a significant number of workers in Iran lose their lives due to the lack of safety standards in the workplace.
