According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, at dawn on Thursday, October 10, 2024, the execution of “As’ad Farhang,” son of Abdullah and a resident of Saqqez, was carried out secretly in Orumiyeh Central Prison without notifying his family or allowing a final visit with his relatives.
As’ad Farhang was married and the father of four children. According to the report, this Kurdish prisoner was arrested about 9 years ago on charges of “premeditated murder” and was sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
It is important to note that his execution was carried out while his case was still under review, and a court hearing was scheduled for three weeks later, on October 26, 2024.
