According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on the evening of Friday, September 27, 2024, the 46-year-old Kurdish political prisoner, Masoud (Naib) Haji Zadeh, son of Madani, returned to Orumiyeh Central Prison after the end of his leave.
Masoud Haji Zadeh, married, father of five, and a resident of the village of Yengejeh, located in the Soma Bradost district of Orumiyeh County, returned to Orumiyeh Central Prison. On the evening of Monday, September 23, 2024, Mr. Haji Zadeh was released on a three-day leave from the central prison of this city after posting bail.
It is important to note that he suffered a torn part of his abdomen due to torture and beatings by security forces. On Sunday, March 3, 2024, Masoud Haji Zadeh was released from Orumiyeh Central Prison on heavy bail of 3 billion tomans for medical treatment.
Previously, this Kurdish prisoner was sentenced by the Orumiyeh Revolutionary Court to 10 years and one day in prison on charges of “membership in one of the opposition parties.” This sentence was later reduced to 7 years and 6 months in prison by the appeals court.
It should be noted that on October 8, 2019, security forces raided Masoud (Naib) Haji Zadeh’s home in Orumiyeh without presenting a judicial order, searched the house, confiscated his mobile phone, and arrested him. He was beaten and taken to a security detention center, and finally, on October 24, 2019, after the completion of the interrogation process, he was transferred to Orumiyeh Prison.
