Death of a Worker from Bukan Due to a Work Accident in the Kurdistan Region

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, a worker named "Hassan Farhadnia," married and a father of one child from Bukan, suffered severe burns and lost his life due to a domestic CNG gas explosion in the city of Sulaymaniyah in the Kurdistan Region.
It is worth noting that poverty and unemployment have led to an increase in the phenomenon of migrant workers in Kurdistan. Despite the lack of job security in Iraqi Kurdistan, workers are engaged in hard labor for low and meager wages. This exhaustion and lack of security lead to such incidents. Furthermore, these workers are not provided with any work insurance.
