According to Hana's colleagues, Mahia Naderi, a 14-year-old girl from Sarpol Zahab, was killed by her brother for the crime of loving a boy and with the consent of their father.
The killing of women and girls is the result of patriarchal thinking and systematic laws against women in society. Although both men and women are victims in patriarchal societies, women must not cross religious or patriarchal lines in order to survive, otherwise they will be met with the fate of Mahya Naderi.
