Statistics of human rights situation in February 2024, in Iranian Kurdistan

Hana Human Rights Organization Statistics Center has prepared a statistical report on the situation of human rights and violations of fundamental rights of Kurdish citizens in February 2024 in Iranian Kurdistan. It should be noted that due to the lack of free access to news inside the country due to heavy suffocation and censorship, this statistic cannot include all the cases of violation of human rights of citizens, but all the efforts of Hana's colleagues at the statistics center of Hana Human Rights Organization are used to ensure that the mentioned cases are accurate and verified.
Based on the statistics registered in the statistics center of Hana Human Rights Organization, in February 2024, at least one Kurdish citizen was executed and one citizen died in prison due to torture, at least 59 Kurdish citizens were arrested, 57 Kolbar and traders were were killed and injured, one worker had an accident while working and died, and at least 8 people committed suicide.
Arrests:
In February 2024, at least 59 Kurdish citizens, including 2 children, were summoned and detained by the security institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran arbitrarily and without any arrest warrant issued by the court.
The identity of all these people has been verified by Hana Human Rights Organization, and most of them have been arrested on charges of political activity, cooperation with Kurdish opposition parties of the Islamic Republic, civil activities and also religious activities. According to these statistics, 12 women and 47 men are among those arrested. In February, 2 prisoners, including a Kurdish cleric, were convicted to death on charge of corruption on earth and Moharebeh. This month, 14 prisoners were sentenced to a total of 390 months in prison.
Execution:
In February 2024, at least one Kurdish citizen was executed in Ardabil prison. This citizen was arrested 6 years ago for drug-related crimes and sentenced to death, and his death sentence was executed on February 9, 2024. A Kurdish citizen named Shahin Galedari died in Orumiyeh prison due to torture.
Kolbers:
Based on Hana's statistics, in February 2024, at least 57 Kolbers and traders were killed and wounded. Of these, 4 people were killed, 3 of those killed were killed by direct fire from the government forces, and one Kolber died due to natural disasters caused by snow and cold. According to these statistics, 47 Kolbers were injured by direct fire from the government forces, 4 Kolbers were injured due to natural disasters, and 2 Kolbers were injured due to a car accident caused by the pursuit by the Islamic Republic forces.
Suicide:
In February 2024, at least 8 people committed suicide in the cities and villages of Kurdistan. Among the suicides, 6 were men and 2 were women. 3 of these individuals were under 18 years old. Most of these suicides were due to family problems and some were due to unknown reasons.
Workers:
In February 2024, a worker died due to a work accident, and one of the labor activists was sentenced to 6 years and 7 months in prison.
