The Islamic Republic intends to execute one of the protesters from November 2019 in Iran, Abbas Deris, a worker and member of the Arab community in Khuzestan province, southern Iran. His charge is participating in protests four years ago against oppression, poverty, and hunger in the city of Mahshahr.

Mahshahr port  (Ma'shoor) is one of the 14 major ports in Iran and the second-largest city in Khuzestan province. The Islamic Republic suppressed the people's protests in this city with heavy weapons and bullets, resulting in the killing and injuring of dozens of protesters. Abbas Deris witnessed this bloody massacre and miraculously survived.

According to Abbas Deris' lawyer, his retrial request has been rejected, and now he is seriously at risk of execution. Abbas Deris is the father of three children: Ali, Mehdi, and Mohammad. His wife, Kefayeh Hazbavi, passed away due to a stroke after hearing the news of the death sentence for Abbas some time ago. Abbas Deris' children and his elderly mother have repeatedly appealed to the world to help prevent the execution of their loved one.

Now our message to you, the people of the world: Not to hesitate in any effort to save Abbas Deris from the danger of death. Protesting against the death sentence for Abbas Deris is not just a protest to save the life of a protesting worker. It is a protest against a regime that has the highest execution rate in the world after China.
