Hana's statement on the new wave of arrests of Kurdish citizens by security agencies
According to the news of Hana Human Rights Organization, in recent days, a new wave of arbitrary detention of citizens of Kurdistan cities has spread. This behavior of the security agencies, although not unprecedented, is worrying and has caused fear and panic among the citizens.
The arrests were made in at least 8 cities and 3 provinces, as follows: Baneh (2 people), Bukan (16 people), Mahabad (2 people), Piranshahr (5 people), Saqez (2 people), Sanandaj (1 person), Javanroud (1 people) and Marivan (1 people) which are a total of 29 people.
According to sources in the Hana Human Rights Organization, the arrests were made without a court order. In fact, the security forces pressured the families of the detained citizens to refrain from interviewing the media about the situation of their children.
Due to the pressure of the security institutions on the families of the detainees regarding the lack of information about the detainees and their situation, it is likely that the number of detainees will exceed this number.
The families of a number of detainees, while expressing concern about the fate of the detainees, report that the security agencies and the judiciary have not responded to the manner of detention and detention.
While condemning the recent arrests, we declare that the treatment of security agencies against detainees is a clear violation of human rights and we call on international organizations to cooperate and work together with the families of detainees and Hana organizations to enforce human rights laws to determine the status and fate of detainees and to act in this regard.
