According to the reports received by Hana Human Rights Organization: On Sunday, April 16, 2023, a 20-year-old girl with the identity of "Donya Rezaei" from the village of Dar drefsh Khanum Abad, Kermanshah, was killed by one of her relatives for an honorable motive.
This informed source added that the body of this citizen was buried on Monday "April 17, 2023" in the cemetery of Dardrefsh Khanum Abad village".
Although in the past decades and especially in the recent years, there have been atrocious murders under the name of honor killings in Iran and Kurdistan, but until now, there is no accurate statistics of honor killings "wife killing, child killing, female killing, etc." by anyone. governmental and non-governmental media and unannounced institutions, but sociologists believe that about 40% of the murders in Iran are honor killings, and due to family, environmental, cultural considerations, etc., they are classified as honor killings and It is not reflected in the society, and even in judicial assemblies, they are not brought up. This is despite the fact that in Iran's judicial system, the killing of a child by family members is not considered as intentional murder, and this itself is a legal vacuum. On the other hand, the government itself is legally the defender of child marriage. Sharia and law also support honor killings and encourage such cases in the society. Gender segregation, discrimination, child marriage, etc. have an official and legal aspect and have disturbed and sickened the psyche of the society.
Hana Human Rights Organization announces; A woman is no one's honor and any kind of violence against women is not permissible under any name and we strongly condemn it and call on the people of Kermanshah to condemn such inhumane acts in any way possible and stop their repetition.
