Hana's announcement about the arrest and detention of Maysoon Majidi in Italy

Maysoon Majidi is a political and civil activist and human rights activist and member of Hana Human Rights Organization.
After the killing of Zhina Mahsa Amini by the Iranian Moral Police and the wave of anti-government protests across Iran, Maysoon Majidi intensified her activities against the Iranian government, which made Iraqi Kurdistan unsafe for her and she was forced to leave with her brother. They etamped to go to Europe, but unfortunately when she arrived in Italy, she was arrested by the Italian police on the first day of 2024 on charges of assisting the captain of the ship that they traveled with to Italy from Turkey.
Hana Human Rights Organization announces that Maysoon Majidi, a political and civil activist and member of Hana Organization, has been active in our organization for several years, because she and her brother paid thousands of Euros to travel to Italy, and this was confirmed by her lawyers and She has worked on human rights issues in Iran, we ask the Italian judiciary as a country's human rights body to take into account the past, political life and human rights activities of Maysoon Majidi and take into account the point that smugglers do not pay money.
We also call on all Italian and European human rights organizations and the international community to support a human rights activist who has been a victim of the unjust judicial system and government of the Islamic Republic, in the mean time The Italian judiciary is responsible for the future of Maysoon Majidi.
