Hana: On Saturday, August 24, 2024, Soleiman Salak, a 73-year-old citizen from Mahabad, was arrested and transferred to the city's prison after being summoned to the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office of Mahabad to serve his prison sentence.
In May 2024, Soleiman Salak was sentenced by Branch 102 of the Criminal Court II of Piranshahr to 10 years in prison for "collaboration with one of the Kurdish opposition parties through the possession and transportation of weapons" and to one year in prison for "membership in one of the Kurdish opposition parties." However, following an appeal, his sentence was reduced to one-fourth of the original term.
