Death of a young worker due to electrocution

According to reports from colleagues at the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Saturday, August 24, 2024, a young worker from Bukan lost his life due to electrocution while working in Azarshahr.
The identity of the worker, confirmed by the Hana Human Rights Organization, is Zanko Qaderi from Bukan.
The lack of proper oversight by officials regarding working conditions and worker safety, as well as employer negligence, are major causes of unsafe working conditions in Iran, especially in Kurdistan. This situation has led Iran to be ranked 102nd globally in terms of workplace safety, making it a very unsafe country for workers. Despite these conditions, anti-labor laws and the support of officials for employers have left workers without any right to protest the lack of workplace safety.
