Masoud Hajizadeh has been sent back to prison after undergoing surgery in Orumieh

According to reports received by the Hana Human Rights Organization, on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, Kurdish political prisoner Masoud (Naeb) Hajizadeh, 45 years old, son of Madani, married and father of five children, from the village of "Yengeje" in the Soma Bradost region of Orumieh County, was returned to the central prison of Orumieh after undergoing abdominal surgery.

It should be noted that he had suffered a rupture in part of his abdomen due to torture and beatings by security personnel.

Masoud Hajizadeh was released from the central prison of Orumieh on Sunday, March 3, 2024, for medical treatment with a heavy bail of three billion tomans.

Previously, this Kurdish prisoner had been sentenced by the Revolutionary Court of Orumieh to 10 years and one day in prison on charges of "membership in one of the Kurdish opposition parties." This sentence was later reduced to 7 years and 6 months in prison by the appellate court.

It is worth mentioning that on October 8, 2019, security forces raided Masoud (Naeb) Hajizadeh's home in Orumieh without presenting a judicial warrant, searched the house, seized mobile phones, arrested him, and subjected him to beatings. He was then transferred to a security detention center and eventually, on October 24, 2019, after completing the interrogation process, he was transferred to Orumieh prison.
