Hana: According to the statistics recorded by the Human Rights Organization Hana, at least 12 Kurdish citizens were executed in the prisons of the Islamic Republic of Iran in August 2024. The names and identities of all these individuals have been verified and registered by Hana, and the details of the charges brought against them by the Islamic Republic of Iran are as follows:

Hana:

Executions due to drug-related crimes: 6 people
Executions due to premeditated murder: 5 people
Executions due to "moharebeh" (armed rebellion) and political crimes: 1 person

Reza Rasaei, a 34-year-old Kurdish man and a follower of the Yarsan faith, who was arrested during the protests of 2022 in Sahneh, Kermanshah, was executed on the morning of Tuesday, August 6, 2024, on charges of killing a member of the IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) without a fair trial and under forced confession extracted through torture.

It is noteworthy that at least 100 people were executed in Iran during August 2024, including 11 Afghan citizens, 8 Balochi citizens, and 12 Kurdish citizens.

The Hana Human Rights Organization condemns executions as state-sponsored killings, labeling them as vile and inhumane acts, and calls for the immediate cessation of death sentences in Iran. The Islamic Republic has accelerated its execution machine to instill fear and silence the voices of public protest. The Iranian people, human rights organizations, and the international community must increase the cost of this state-sponsored killing for the Islamic Republic through protest campaigns, condemnation, and political pressure.
