Statistics of human rights situation in August 2022 in Iranian Kurdistan 

Hana: Hana Human Rights Organization Statistics Center publishes its statistical report on the human rights situation and violation of fundamental rights of Kurdish citizens in August 2022 in Iranian Kurdistan. (In this report, Kurdistan includes the provinces of Kermanshah, Ilam, Sanandaj (Kurdistan), Urmia (West Azerbaijan). Considering the lack of free access to news and events inside the country, this statistic cannot include all cases of violations of citizens' rights. However, all the efforts of Hana Human Rights Organization's colleagues are aimed at ensuring that the utmost care is taken in entering the news and verifying the published items.

Based on the statistics registered in the statistical center of Hana Human Rights Organization, in August 2022, at least 93 Kurdish citizens were arrested, 2 people were executed, 3 children were killed, 34 Kolbers and businessmen were killed and wounded, 9 workers had a work accident while working and died. At least 4 people were killed and injured due to the mine explosion, at least 34 people committed suicide, and finally, at least 2 women were killed in August.
Arrests:
In August 2022, at least 93 Kurdish citizens were arrested by the Islamic Republic of Iran's security institutions arbitrarily and without any arrest warrant from the court. These arrests were carried out by the intelligence forces, uniformed, special forces and also called by phone.
The identity of all the arrested persons has been verified for Hana Human Rights Organization, most of them have been arrested on the charge of political activities, cooperation with Kurdish political parties, as well as labor, union and civil activities. According to these statistics, 67 people were arrested for political crimes, 18 people were arrested for union and civic activities, especially teachers, 4 people were arrested for environmental activities and 2 people were arrested for religious activities. Out of the total number of those arrested, 86 were men and 7 were women.
Execution:
In August 2022, at least 2 Kurdish citizens were executed, one of them for murder and the other for drug-related crimes.
 Kolbers:
According to Hana statistics, in August 2022, 34 Kolbers and Kurdish businessmen were killed and injured.
Of these, 7 people were killed, and all the victims were killed by direct fire from the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In this month, 22 Kolbers have been injured. Of these, 19 people were injured by direct fire from the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and 3 people were injured by a mine explosion.
In August, 5 Kolbers and businessmen were arrested by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In the month of August, the highest number of kolbers losses, which is equal to 60% of the total published number, occurred in the border strip of Baneh.

Women:
In August 2022, at least 7 women were arrested and detained by the security agencies. All those arrested were arrested for union, labor, political activities and cooperation with Kurdish opposition parties of the Islamic Republic, and one case was also arrested for religious activity.
Femicide:
Based on the statistics recorded in the Hana Statistics Center in August 2022, at least 2 women were killed in connection with honor killings and family disputes by their husbands or members of the same family in the cities of Khoy and Kermanshah.
Suicide:
Based on the statistics recorded in the Hana Statistics Center in August 2022, at least 34 people have committed suicide in the cities and villages of Kurdistan, which is a significant increase compared to the previous month. Of these suicides, 28 were male and 6 were female. Suicides in August were mostly young people. So that there are 7 children and 21 young people among the suicides. These suicides were due to poor living conditions and sometimes family disputes.
Workers:
Based on the statistics recorded in the Hana Statistics Center in August 2022, at least 9 Kurdish workers died due to work-related accidents and lack of safety at work, and many were injured. Thirteen labor activists have been summoned this month.
Mine explosion:
Based on the statistics recorded in the Hana Statistics Center, in August 2022, one person was killed in the borders of Kurdistan due to the explosion of landmines and explosives left over from the Iran-Iraq war, as well as new landmines planted by the Border Guard Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. and 3 people were also injured.
children:
In August 2022, many children died, including 7 cases of suicide involving children or people under the age of 18. Also, in this month, 2 children were killed by police forces and one child had an accident while working and died.
