Killing and wounding at least 34 Kolbers in August 2022

Hana: Hana Human Rights Organization Statistics Center has collected data and statistics related to the deaths of Kurdish border courier known as Kolber and traders in different parts of Iranian Kurdistan. These statistics were prepared with the efforts of Hana's colleagues.

 

In this section, the statistics of the casualties of Kolbers and Kurdish traders in August 2022 are presented.
In the month of August, at least 34 Kolber and traders were killed, wounded, or arrested during the Kolberi.
All cases are male in terms of gender.
Out of a total of 34 people,
7 people were killed, and all these 7 Kolbers were killed by direct fire from the border forces of the Islamic Republic.
In this month, 22 Kolbers and traders were injured, 19 of them were injured by direct fire from the border forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and 3 were injured by landmines.
In August, 5 people from Kolbers and businessmen were arrested by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran
In the month of August, the highest number of  losses, which is equal to 60% of the total published number, occurred in the border strip of Baneh.

Kolbari is a phenomenon resulting from systematic poverty and unemployment in Kurdistan, and people take refuge in Kolbari out of necessity, while the government officials do not make any effort to solve the livelihood problems of the people of Kurdistan, but they have also made the killing of Kolbers a regular news and this call It is dangerous for the people of Kurdistan. The police forces, the IRGC and border guards of the Islamic Republic shoot directly at Kolbers and kill or injure a number of them daily.
