Hana: Unaware of the fate of 8 Kurdish trade union activists for more than a month

Hana: Unaware of the fate of the Kurdish trade union activist for more than a month is worrying their family , and the treatment of these citizens by the security agencies is contrary to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.


As previously reported by the Hana Human Rights Organization, after 35 days, five civil and social activists named Parvin Abdullah Panah, a civil and women rights activist (Hassan Ezzati's wife), and Rahman (Omar) Soleimani, a 58-year-old labor activist and former political prisoner. Saeed Mohammadi, a 41-year-old labor activist, and former political prisoner, Fouad Farooqi, a former political prisoner, and well-known activists and figures in Baneh, Fateh Majidi, 64-year-old, and a fired teacher from the Education Department, who had previously served 8 years in Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj are still being held by security forces and their fate is unknown.

Fateh Majidi, one of the detainees, suffers from heart disease and this condition could cause serious health problems for him.

Along with these five civil and labor activists, three others were arrested. Nishtman Rahmati (Saeed Mohammadi's wife) was released the same day after several hours of interrogation, and the next day labor activist Hassan Ezzati, a member of the board of the Baneh Pas Baneh was released after a day of interrogation and detention by security forces.
On Monday, May 16, 20022, Afshin Rashidi, a labor and social activist in Baneh, was released on a 300 million Toman bail after 21 days in detention until his case was completed.

The arrests came as Revolutionary Guards-affiliated websites stated that the arrest of these citizens on charges of membership in Komala and activities related to the publication of reports of protests, murders and suicides, gathering information about social problems in order to create disturbances and insults against religious sanctities.

Hana's colleagues in Iran confirm the torture of these citizens during their detention and detention center, and information indicates that interrogators have so far failed to make a forced confession. 

In this regard, Eskandar Lotfi (Soran) said in a phone call with his family on Monday, May 30, 2022: I am announcing a dry strike in protest of the pressure to make a forced confession and extend my detention. He was cut off when he tried to talk about something else.

Since their arrest, the families of the detainees, teachers and civil activists have repeatedly protested in front of the Marivan courthouse, but no information is available on their fate. 

The demands of all these activists have always been related to the livelihood and economy of the family and to achieve their citizenship rights, and they have tried to realize their rights in accordance with Article 27 of the Iranian Constitution. 

The suppression of freedom of expression and opinion violates Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Article 19 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, adopted on December 16, 1966, which emphasizes the right of individuals to freely express their political and ideological views and opinions. 

The denial of the defendant's right to access a lawyer during the interrogation, interrogation, and denial of access to other requirements violates a due process, Article 9 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Article 9 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights adopted on December 16, 1966. 

The Islamic Republic, Instead of addressing the current situation in the society in order to solve the existing problems that have increased the number of poverty and social problems, those citizens who protest against this situation, condemns various sentences by revolutionary courts.
