Death of a Kurdish cleric following medical restrictions by the government

According to the information received from Hana's colleagues, on Thursday (March 3, 2022), Mullah Sheikh Mohammad Ebrahimi, a Kurdish cleric from the village of "Chor" in the Marivan district, died due to injuries caused by the intentions and restrictions of the security agencies.


According to this report; he was arrested by security forces on (October 4, 2022) and sentenced to one year in prison on charges of propaganda against the regime and insulting Iranian government officials.  Then, because of his old age, he became a cash fine and banned from leaving Iran.

Then, unknown individuals set fire to the private house of Mamosta Mohammad Ebrahimi, located in Haji Najim neighborhood of Marivan, and as a result of this incident, the cleric suffered severe burns on his hands, shoulders and back.

 Due to the fact that Mamousta suffers from diabetes, the treatment of his burns was difficult and he was not allowed to leave the country by the government and he was not able to receive treatment outside of Iran. Exacerbation due to diabetes could not bear the pain and he died on that date.

Mullah Mohammad is one of the religious figures protesting against the current system in Iran. Since the beginning of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the way of governing and discrimination in the society has been criticized many times in his assemblies and for this reason he has been summoned and interrogated five times.  He was also a staunch opponent of Wahhabi and Salafi extremist currents.
