Hana: In the past few days, fires were set on several forest areas of Marivan city.

As a result of these fires, a large part of the forests in the areas of 'Anjiran, Dararoarn, Dolabid, Rashe Dey, Kolit Haj Abdullah, behind the Darsiran cemetery, Selin' have been seriously damaged. Many animals in these areas have fallen victim to the fire.

An environmental activist in Marivan told Hana Human Rights; Drought and water shortages, on the one hand, and the Revolutionary Guards' inability to extinguish the fires, which were the main cause of the fires in most of their areas, further damaged the forest.
He also added; Considering the activities of environmentalists, however, the current situation indicates that the Revolutionary Guards were to blame for most of these fires, and if this continues, no wounded forests will be found in the area by the end of the summer.
