Imprisonment for a lawyer charged with acting against the Islamic Republic of Iran

Hana; Javad Alikordi is a lawyer and university professor, and a former member of the Sabzevar City Council was sentenced to prison for his activities in cyberspace.


Alikordi, who was arrested by the Mashhad Intelligence Service on April 22, 2020, was charged with "forming and operating the Telegram Group of Hope, Awareness and Freedom with the aim of overthrowing the Islamic Republic" and "propaganda activities against the Islamic Republic of Iran." He was detained in solitary confinement of the Mashhad Intelligence Office for more than 30 days.


The case of Javad Alikordi, after the indictment was issued by the investigator of Branch 903 of the Revolutionary Court, with the decision of Judge Mansouri, the head of the Fourth Branch of the Revolutionary Court of Mashhad, has led to the following verdicts:

1- Six years and six months imprisonment on charges of forming and running a telegram group with the aim of establishing the government as the founder and admin of the supergroup of hope, awareness and freedom
2- Eight months of imprisonment for propaganda activities against the Islamic Republic of Iran
3- One year and five months imprisonment for insulting the Supreme Leader
Also, as the completion of the punishment, 2 years prohibiting the employment of any activities and teaching in educational and university environments
2_Two years ban from leaving the country
3- Sentenced to two years ban on membership in political and social parties, groups and categories

After protesting to the Court of Appeal of Khorasan Razavi Province, Branch 37 of the Court of Appeal of Razavi Province, while rejecting the appeal, only reduced the sentence of six years and six months to two years of imprisonment, and other main and supplementary sentences remain in force. .
